Configuring Netscape 4.0 News for Windows95

 

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Click on Groups Server. The news server is: news.BauerCom.Net
  3. Click OK.


Subscribing to Newsgroups

  1. From the Communicator menu, select Collabra Discussion Groups. The Collabra window opens.
  2. Right-click on the news server icon and select Subscribe to groups.
  3. Look for groups.

    You can type in the full name of a newsgroup that interests you, type in a partial name to get an array of newsgroups provided by one host, or search for a keyword like "bicycle" or "garden" to find what you're looking for.

  4. Folders expand to show arrays of newsgroups available.

    Try looking for BauerCom. will show you an entire folder of newsgroups that we host.

  5. Subscribe to whatever looks interesting.
  6. Click OK.
  7. To read newsgroups, double-click on a newsgroup to read its contents. Use the New Msg and Reply buttons just like you do for email with Communicator.
